NCDAE Community
The NCDAE community is made up of individuals, organizations, education institutions, industry representatives and businesses who have joined together to improve the accessibility of electronically-mediated education for individuals with disability. NCDAE partners and affiliates share technical expertise and other resources to accomplish this purpose. Below you will find community resources for the benefit of everyone that is a part of the NCDAE community.

The National Center on Disability and Access to Education maintains an active list of contacts and affiliates that collaborates with us to achieve our goals. As an NCDAE affiliate, you will receive valuable information occasionally on various NCDAE activities. Affiliates are national leaders within industry, education, and government that are helping shape policy and practices regarding full access to education. Become an affiliate today and receive regular updates on technology research, tool development, and policy activities undertaken by NCDAE, its affiliates and partners.
Affiliates and contacts can choose to receive occasional e-mails regarding NCDAE news, events, and resources. Your information is protected and your organization name is only displayed to the public if you so desire. Affiliates can also disseminate information, participate in forum discussions, Webcasts, and other NCDAE events. All participation is voluntary.

GOALS Partners
The GOALS project (Gaining Online Accessible Learning through Self-Study) centers on the development, evaluation, and dissemination of materials and processes in web accessibility that institutions of education and accrediting bodies can use in their efforts to ensure that online content is accessible to all users.
Project partners and Staff include:
- Pat Shea, representing the Western Cooperative for Educational Telecommunications (WCET), with 285 member organizations.
- Myk Garn and Jevonda Keith, from Kentucky's Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE), with oversight responsibilities for publicly-funded colleges and universities in Kentucky.
- Lisa McLaughlin, representing K-20 through Western Heights School District in Oklahoma City, and AdvancED, the world's largest education community, representing 23,000 public and private schools and districts in 30 states, and serving 15 million students. AdvancED is comprised of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), the Southern Association of Colleges and School Council on Accreditation (SACS CASI), and the National Study of School Evaluation (NSSE).

RSS Feeds
RSS, which stands for "Really Simple Syndication" (sometimes called Rich Site Summary), has been adopted by news services, weblogs, and other online information services to send content to subscribers. After subscribing to an RSS feed, you will be notified when new content is available without having to visit the web site.
Typically, syndication services send out a headline/summary with a link the full story. NCDAE updates the RSS feed weekly with news stories and other pieces of information and events that we feel are interesting and/or important within the NCDAE community to know about.
How to Subscribe
It is easy to use RSS feeds. First, you need to download a free RSS viewer. Then, you copy and paste the URL of the news feed (e.g. http://ncdae.org/rss/ncdaenews.xml) into the viewer's “subscribe” dialogue. Example RSS viewers include:

- FeedDemon (Windows)
- NetNewsWire Lite (Mac)
- BlogLines (Web-based, all platforms)
- Firefox 1.0+ also provides RSS subscription in the form of Live Bookmarks. To subscribe using Firefox, simply go the NCDAE homepage, click on the 'RSS' icon at the bottom right of the screen and select the news feed you'd like to subscribe to.
Webcasts
NCDAE produces audio Webcasts on a quarterly basis. Each Webcast includes panelist from industry, education, and government that discuss questions about various aspects of accessibility and distance education.
